As 2013 comes to a close, the IDF has posted its 13 most inspirational stories of the year. From two Muslim brothers from Galilee who volunteered to protect Israel to two Israeli brothers preparing for war who surprised their sister by attending her wedding, these stories nicely recap the year being finished and provide inspiration for the year to come. Beginning with the story of a young man who overcame disability to not only serve the Holy Land, but thrive, here are 13 heartening stories of the brave men and women of the IDF:

Despite his lifelong struggle with Cerebral Palsy, Captain Yehonatan Cohen enlisted as a soldier in the IDF. Although unable to walk or move his hands, he eventually rose through the ranks to become an IDF officer.

    I Thank God! Nothing is impossible with God our Father! Thank You Jesus..Hallelujah!
    Israel will still be standing in the end..God with protect Israel !
    He will not let nobody take His Holy Land!

    Thats awesome. Warms my heart to see that he was accepted into the military for his abilities instead of over looked due to his disabilities. Way to go Israel!
