America Stands With Israel

Yesterday, we asked SFI readers to call their senators in Washington and ask them to support a resolution authored by U.S. Sens. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense and condemning Hamas’ rocket fire against Israeli civilians. If you’re following our Live Updates, you already know that the resolution passed yesterday afternoon by unanimous consent. 66 Senators – two-thirds of the chamber – cosponsored the resolution.

Thank you for calling your senators. Please call back and thank them for their support! And let’s be ready to make more phone calls when the House of Representatives considers a resolution which may happen soon.

Lost in the swift action by the Senate yesterday is the underlying message it sends to the world about where America stands when it comes to our alliance with Israel. Pro-Israel resolutions routinely pass the Senate with 90+ “yes” votes (out of 100 Senators) or by unanimous consent. In the House, these resolutions usually get more than 400 “yes” votes (out of 435 total). Those margins are usually reserved for uncontroversial things like naming post offices.

The reason our leaders vote in such overwhelming numbers to support Israel is because the American people are overwhelmingly pro-Israel and our elected officials reflect that attitude.

In the coming days, we will be called on to continue to defend Israel’s actions and her right to defend herself.  As the violence continues and, possibly, escalates, Israel’s enemies will have better and more effective propaganda to use against us even though Israel takes more care to avoid civilian casualties than any army in the world.

It will fall to us to defend Israel to our friends and congregations – and, yes, to our elected officials.

I am very pleased that Americas Senators voted to support Isreal the right to defend itself against terrorists. The greatest support towards Isreal is from the Triune GOD that loves you as the apple of his eye. It is dangerous to mess around with the Living GOD.

Israel you are God’s chosen. As a Christian I am elated to know how the story ends. We(you Israel and I) are victorious in Christ Jesus. I pray Psalms 91 over you. And for those attacking our president, shame on you. As Christians we have a responsibility to pray for our leader and ALL governmental officials. We should pray for our country, and pray that the alliance declared for Israel by USA will remain strong and we stand United for Christ. Israel know that God has you hidden in His bosom and NO WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER AND KNOW THAT WHAT WAS MEANT FOR EVIL WILL BE FOR ISRAEL’S GOOD. Your latter will be greater than your former. Again, we win praise God.

Amy, praying is good but where were you when you had a chance to stand up before the world and vote this idiotic liar out of office and get someone with the guts to stand up for Isreal and show the world you had the guts, instead of folding with a vote for him and more of his lies.

Israel is undoubtly in the right one hundred percent with her response against the terrorist. The Hamas are using rockets daily to try and put all of Israel’s citizens in a state of fear and harm, and that is what makes the Hamas organization terrorist and a terrorist organization.

Israel’s response is no different then when the United Kingdom in WWII had to defend itself from the Nazi V-2 Rockets and Buzz Bomb attacks on London. Israel is in the same situtation that the U.K. was in during that time…Israel has the absolute right not to only protect all of her citizens from harm, but also terror.

    Shalom be with you Israel.

We in the USA want our friends in Israel that they are in our thoughts and prayers, while we pray for peace. May all the peoples of the world learn to love and respect each other, and make war a thing of the past.

We must support Israel and the God of Israel does not want Jerusalem divided. We Americans or others who would insist in this would terrible act will be cursed. I love Israel and I come from the Republic of Ireland. Irish people know what itis to be divided. Irish people were the losers under British Rule before we became a nation in the early part of last Century. I am praying for the Peace of Jerusalem and Gods Holy Protection always. God Bless you all in Jusus’s name.

The Lord will deliver Israel, but He also holds us accountable in how we treat them.
Oboma is a muslim and their Koran calls christians and jews infidels so secretly he is on the Muslims side!!That’s why he wouldn’t send more protection to our ambassador in Lybia. He’d prefer a pat on the back from muslims than to save the lives of indidels!! Wake up America!!
