Jonathan Tobin writes for Commentary Magazine that so-called “experts” have been wrong about Iran and the Middle East for decades. Now they attack Prime Minister Netanyahu for his willingness to attack Iran’s nuclear program.
As Israelis and their government continue to debate the merits of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the contempt of American foreign policy realists for the idea the Jewish state might decide to act in its own defense is considerable. Contempt for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak seems to be the primary motivation for the latest missive for James Traub, one of the realists’ leading writers, that appeared in Foreign Policy on Friday.

What do you think?

The Arab countries don’t realiza that Israel was belong to the jews ever since 1888. And ever since 1948 Israel fought with the Arabs and won. What Obama is angry about is the everytime Banjamin Natanyahu come to woshington, and talk about peace, Obama think that Netanyahu would say “Yes Sir I would do whatever you want”. But Netanyahu is not going to listen to Obama because Mis Netayahu would do whatever in order to protect Israel and the jews.

God’s fury will come upon those nations who wants to see the destruction of Israel. This is God’s land and His people.

Lamentations4:17 -we looked in vain for our allies to come and save us,but we were looking to nations that could not help us.(Jeremiah told the leaders to rely on God ).

I am praying and hoping that this is administration in the United States will do everything in its power to defend and protect Israel, I personally wish that I could be there help defend Israel!

Israel must protect herself. Iran is taunting Israel. Sanctions are not stopping their build-up. MAY GOD BE WITH ISRAEL. MAY ALL OF HER ALLIES STEP UP TO THE PLATE! Iran is a rouge, dangerous neighbor

My biggest fear on this issue is that Obama will do something to undermine an effective Israeli strike. Obama’s main foreign polichy objective is to force a Saudi-style “surrender” agreement down Israel’s throat, using the threat of an imminently nuclear Iran as leverage. Obama’s ideal situation is to prevent Israel from striking until they no longer can, but the U.S. still has this capability. Then, Obama presents Israel with an ultimatum with respect to a suicidal agreement with the PA: sign or we let Iran go nuclear.
I hope that Netanyahu, through “cloak and dagger” methods, can slow down Iran enough so that he can wait to strike Iran at some point when Obama is no longer in office. Failing that, I hope he can successfully dismantle Iran’s nuclear program even if this has to be done while Obama is still in office.
I hope…but I don’t know what will ultimately happen.
I didn’t vote for Obama in the first place. Any Jew who did in ’08 was delusional and stupid. Any Jew who votes for Obama this time, has no right to call themselves a Jew, in my opinion.
What a mess. What a mess.

I don’t think an Israeli strike will lead to WW3. I’ve had all sorts of scary dreams that did not turn out; when I was in high school in the 70s, I dreamed about nuclear war but it never happened.
Neither China nor Russia have any interest in protecting the “rights” of the Mad Mullahs to have nuclear arms. China has oil interests in Iran, but nothing that they couldn’t replace with production from other sources. Russia just bought a big stake in Israeli gas fields, and China just agreed to help build a big railway in Israel. Neither of them will really go to the mat over Iran.

I am torn on this one. I know Iran wants to eventually strike. However, unless there can be a strike that permanently stops Iran, all this may do is make things worse.

For my part, I believe that Israel should strike this waste of humanity, and as soon as possible and that God supports dan this enterprise.Je crois qu’Israel devrait frapper ces déchets de l’humanité sans tarder et que Dieu les accompagne dans leur entreprise
3:32 pm
there’s an advantage to strike Iran this early before the “immunity zone”; however, more drawback if Israel will di it alone…”in everything there is a season a right time is under heaven.”

there are advantage to strike Iran this early before it reaches “immunity zone”, however a lot of drawback if Israel will do it alone…heads were analyzing for the right time to success…let’s wait!

No policy-maker or commentator in the United States has the proper perspective to tell Israel how to defend itself from a regional threat.
1:56 pm
I believe Israel should go ahead in their own defence and take out the nukes.
Any country that goes against Israel is doomed.
1:47 pm
I dont think whatever happens, if who starts what when there will be any winners.
Only loss
12:52 pm
I fully believe that Israel should stand up and take action to defend itself. Any nation that does not side with them is in effect going against its own policies of self defense.
12:26 pm
Recently I was given a dream where Israel’s strike resulted in WW III. It isn’t the past and presently any normal human being can see where this will lead to.
