Like it or not, Jerusalem is Israel’s capital

Photo: PD-USGov

Michael Totten, on White House press secretary Jay Carney’s refusal to publicly name the capital of Israel in a press conference:

It’s a fact—not an opinion—that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. Anyone who insists otherwise is in denial.  You may wish Tel Aviv was its capital. You may even wish a united Al Quds was the capital of the Arab state of Palestine. But those things can only be true in an alternate universe or in the future. In this universe, in 2012, Israel exists and Jerusalem is its capital.

Only one of Israel’s national government buildings—the ministry of defense—is in Tel Aviv. All the others are in Jerusalem. And all of them are on the western side of the city inside the internationally recognized borders. The only people who dispute Israel’s right to exist in west Jerusalem are those who dispute Israel’s right to exist anywhere.

It never ceases to amaze me how many are willing to unflinchingly come up against the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and yet we know that the fear of God is the first sign of wisdom. As far as those using the judgment of God at various times against the nation of Israel I say, “Get the timber out of your own eye!” Do not be haughty against the Jewish nation—-God has chosen it and no amount of Replacement Theology will ever change that simple fact!!!

Now the FAKER in the White House signs a RENEWAL of an old agreement with Israel the day before Mitt Eomney, his opponent, arrives there. Do not be FOOLED. BHO is just rying to buy some last minute votes.

Seek ADONAI and His strength; always seek His presence. Let the gentiles rage and make their plans against EL’EL*YON come to nothing! I say trust in our creator.

Be careful, all the nations!! Israel is the apple of God’s eye; her faithful people are joy to Him. He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. While to Him a thousand years may be like an hour to the nations, their actions are noted, the individuals are observed. Remember, God Father, God Jesus, God Holy Spirit is in control. All praise be to our God.

Today, we have modern day prophets also calling for the nation to repent and return to God’s standards of morality and holiness. (The USA)

If we are following the morality and standards of those around us, we are making the very same mistake that brought about the destruction of Jerusalem and the Holy Temples on Tisha B’Av.

We must look at the destruction in our lives, assess the damage, and repent of the sins that we have committed. History has a way of repeating when we don’t learn the lessons.

As Believers in Yeshua, we no longer belong to ourselves; our bodies are a temple of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) (1 Corinthians 6:19).

Many Jewish people today don’t realize that Jerusalem was overthrown, the Temples destroyed and the people sent into exile because of God’s judgment for their sins.
The breakdown of morality in the nation of Israel was directly responsible for devastation, famine, defeat, exile and death. The Babylonians and Romans were only God’s agents to carry out His judgment.

The prophet Jeremiah tried to warn the people, but to no avail.

“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” (Isaiah 1:19-20)

Kenneth, be careful that you do not presume to be able to judge as God judges. Read your Bible – God says that His covenant with Israel is EVERLASTING.
The Lord says,”I bring near my righteousnes; it shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.” (Isaiah 46:13)

Patricia,…Kenneth is correct and God’s judging Israel has nothing to do with His Covenant with her…..Just because He disciplines those He loves doesn’t mean He breaks Covenant with them. And that applies to all believers in Yeshua as well. Read the book of Hebrews..God is clear that He chastises those He loves BUT it doesn’t nullify the fact that He also says He will never leave them or forsake them……God bless you!!

Sisters and Brothers, GOD has never let Jerusalem, Israel down, unless they stepped out from HIS umbrella, which they did many times. GOD has their back and will never let anything happen to HIS Children. The last days are at hand and when JESUS does return there will be a New Jerusalem weather we or anybody else likes it or not, along with a new earth and a new heaven. We and the rest of the world are going through these trials and tribulations because of our decisions we have made toward Israel. Check their economy (Israel’s) right now they are prospering greatly, much, much, fruit. Watch when the oil shows up in Israel, then some things will change. GOD bless Israel and their Capitol Jerusalem

Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. My apologies to people Israel for the anti-Semitism emanating from our current U.S. leadership. This president has opened his arms to terrorist leaders, yet has obscenely denigrated P.M. Netanyahu and other Israeli representatives. Huge numbers of us all across our country voice true friendship with Israel, including with our prayers.
Our LORD will bless those who bless Israel and will curse those who do not. Shalom, dear people Israel. May this Shabbat draw you ever closer to HIS peace, HIS comfort, HIS blessings.
    Shalom.

Jews have included in their prayers, “Next year in Jerusalem,” for centuries. As part of a settlement with the Palestinians part of Jerusalem will be the Arab capital. Will the Israelies ever really agree to this? Is this reality? When will the Palestinians recognize Israel as a nation. How can negotions go forward without this recognition? Is Jay Carney expressing Obama policy in not stating that Jerusalem truly is the capital of Israel?

Jerusalem was chosen by G-d not man. He proclaims it for HIS people the Israelis/Jews. So it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks or says, Jerusalem was since King David and is since G-d returned it to them THE CAPITOL OF ISRAEL. Not the POTUS or his mouthpiece/s can change or take it away. G-d has said HE will see to it as He promised in the Holy Bible, HIS WORD not man’s.

like anything – if you can say a thing enough times you can make people believe it. this sort of manipulation has been ongoing for the past 20years. and pretty soon, they will probably try to reprint history textbooks, yet again, removing Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel. It’s a sad thing what this world is evolving into. May the God of Israel bless you.

There is a great need for the creation of an internet link so that Christians and others around the world who love Israel could make our voices heard to the Olympics committee and to governments that we are angered and insulted because the Olympic committee, the British government and others are afraid to name Jerusalem the capital of Israel. We need to make our beliefs and feelings known. The ‘Palestinians’ and the rest of the Arab/Muslim world have made their wicked sentiments heard so loudly that they have succeeded in cowing powerful nations and governments. Help us to make our voices heard so that we too can speak up for Israel.

Jay Carney and President Obama and his administration have proven to be disingenuous in their evasive and contradictory statements. They do not stand for what is true and right, but only what is politically expedient for their agenda. Barack Obama has demeaned the office of the President of the United States of America. He has insulted Prime Minister Netanyahu and betrayed the trust and friendship of the people and nation of Israel. Jerusalem is the ancient and current capital of Israel, and should not be divided; the national borders of Israel must be restored and preserved; the sovereignty of Israel must be internationally recognized and honored. I and my Christian friends continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Shalom and may God continue to protect and richly bless the nation and people of Israel. Amen.
