Redesigning the Peace Process

Writing in Tablet Magazine, Richard Landes – the man who coined or applied to the Middle East the terms “demopathy” and “cognitive egocentrism” – says that our misunderstanding of the cultural differences in the region has led directly to the failure of the peace process.

Overestimating the power of politics and dramatically underestimating the importance of culture has actually hindered the possibility for a political solution. For Jews, especially progressive Jews, the early second decade of the 21st century poses a particularly interesting and painful meditation just in time for Yom Kippur: In our quest for “fairness,” for splitting the blame evenly, for misidentifying problems as political and therefore easily solvable—so easily solvable they could be dispatched with a simple email, as one exasperated BBC anchor put it recently—are we actually working against both parties in the conflict?

If we don’t stand with Israel we will fall with the ones who are against her. America must stand with God’s chosen people!

I truely believe we should stand with and fight for Israel if we are to be God’s people. We have
an obligation to do, and that is to fight for
righteousness and follow in the truth.

Understanding different cultures has nothing to do with why there hasn’t been peace. For the Arabs there is only one solution that would be acceptable, the total destruction of Israel.

It is unfathomable how President Obama’s open failures in the Middle East are perceived in the USA. Americans operate under the delusion Islam is not a threat and while Judaism and Christianity are blamed for many of the worlds problems Islam which is certainly culpable in some cases in the same areas, Islam expects even demands any criticism should be criminal. It is in fact criminal in many of the regions Christians are fleeing. Peace Peace but there is no peace or justice. A new strating point can not be reached by the Obama administration the policies the USA governement is now pursuing is like gas on a fire.

I respect your views Peggy, but if you read Matthew 24, Mark13, Luke 21 you will see that there is no Rapture. This rapture thing is not
Bibicial. It was an 1830 dream of a Scottish girl.I could go on,but you should study into it. This has , and always will be one of the biggest
deceptions that mankind believes in. Satan has many powerful ways to turn people from the truth.

always support Israel. That is what God wants us to do. If there is a 7 year peace treaty between Israel and its enemies be prepared for the end is near. Believe that Jesus is the son of God and ask for forgiveness of sins so you wont miss the rapture and you wont have to be here when the treaty is broken after 3 and a half years because things are going to get horrible in this world. Things are going to happen that the world has never seen. But there is good news! Jesus Christ the son of God came to earth as a baby, born of the virgin Mary and died on the cross for our sins so that we can live eternaly with him and never worry again about wars or sickness, because he loves us so much. Dont miss it !

I believe we should be praying for Israel at this time, knowing that they are God’s people and that Israel belongs to God too.

First and foremost Israel must protect her borders and her entire Country by any / all means possible. God will give Israel the VICTORY when all is said and done. God will punish all those that go against Israel.

Obama is a coward and he knows that Benjamin Netaniahu will not back down and he would do whatever it takes to protect Israel.

My name is Carrie also and I agree with Carrie, but if you have a run away train (Iran) how can you stop it? We have to nuke it!!!! I don’t believe even drawing a “red line” will stop Iran there is way too much “HATE” in them. As for Obama and Clinton they just talk big and NO ACTION, besides if you really think about it, Israel really doesn’t need the US, she has all the power she needs!!!! If it wasn’t for Israel and the Jewish people we would not have a MIGHTY G-D. HE will protect Israel especially in the end!!!!! Praise HIM!

I couldn’t agree more. Nothing good will come out of it except more false promises, slogans, and pressure to make unrealistic concessions.

Remembering the Terror of 9/11, Confronting the Terror of Today

The attacks on 9/11 were a wake-up call to the dangers of Islamist terrorism, and the swift growth of terrorist groups such as the Islamic State should wake us up to a current threat that demands not just our vigilance, but also our unity.
