Russia’s Absurd Proposal on Syria’s Weapons

Jonathan Tobin, writing at Commentary, points out a number of problems with the Russian proposal – which President Obama has called a potential breakthrough in the conflict with Syria – for the Assad regime to turn over all chemical weapons: chief among them, that we have no way of inspecting, accounting, or holding Assad accountable.

This, then, is not a serious alternative to military action. It is a stalling tactic to allow Assad to retain his chemical-weapons capacity–and other weapons that have killed far more people. It is also a distraction from the real issue, which is not Assad’s chemical-weapons stockpile but the continuing existence of the Assad regime itself.

Syria has chemical weapons from all sorts of sources (including Iraq). And they’re not all over a decade old. Of course which factions have them might be a little hard to tell.

I have an idea for a political cartoon of Asad shaking hand with Moon saying “Don’t worry we will turn all our chemical wepons over to you. The next frame his pants burst into flames.

Obama who has one of the higest IQ’s among American Presidents is acting unwisely in the foreign policy arena. Kerry, opened the door to the faux pax when he stated Syria could avoid a military strike if they handed over their chemical arsenal in seven days. When Kerry made that statement he was jesting but Vladimir (the wolf ) Putin with his built in radar was listening and seized upon an idea. Putin would solve the crisis by telling Assad give up your chemical weapons and I will save your regieme by getting these pesky Americans off your back. By doing so you can continue killing the rebels using conventional weapons and you can continue displacing a few more million Syrians and continue living in a palace and continue buying Russian military hardware. After all the Congress and House of Representatives does not support or even like Obama and a house divided amongst itself can never stand!!? I will make sure you never come to justice after all since your father became President in 1971 after his successful coup d’etat over his mentor in the Baath Party has not the Soviet Union and since 1991 has not Russia kept your regieme afloat. This is truly what is happening in Syria and Russia and in America. This crisis in the future will be looked upon as the time the United States lost its superpower status. It will be looked upon as the time of the ascendancy of Russia because their house though proportionately smaller in population 2-1 and geographically larger 2-1 was more clever than the United States. Vladimir the wolf Putin is a hungry bear of a nation who wishes to consume the Middle East one nation at a time. He is protecting his toehold at Tartus a port in the Meditterrean that the Soviet Union has held since 1971 and which Russia has held since 1991.
The wolf has just checkmated the United States and what is tragic is no one is the wiser. Thankfully, the nation of Russia has risen and fallen six times since its formation from German-Scandanivian tribes since the Kievan-Rus period. They will fall one more time in this century when the prophecy of Exekiel chapter 38 and 39 is fulfilled. This nation will again arise in the 31st century to rise again before its ultimate destruction in the 31st century. Obama’s dithering will bring America to the precipice and undoubtedly Netanyahu in Israel is disturbed by this development.

Regardless of Obama’s IQ, he is a Muslim, with an Islamic agenda. “Actions speak LOUDER than words”. He unequivocally favors Muslims—NOT Christians or Jews. He is a “New World Order” puppet.

Look both sides in Syria are our enemy so why don’t we just give both side weapons so they can shoot each other that way we don’t have send our boots, our we can send obama and his followers instead.

Didn’t Russia sell all those weapons to Syria? Sounds a bit like a bartender selling liquor to an under-aged minor, then taking it away because of their illegal age. Why were they sold at all?!

You are incorrect. The UK sold them to Syria over a decade ago. I will confirm this statement and report back.

IMO Obama’s serious consideration of this is just a face saving measure. He can look statesmanlike and say “Well guys, I tried all the proper channels, but I turned it over to the intern’tl community”

So where exactly did the Syrians get the chemical weapons from in the first place? Their main “big power” supporter is Russia and Syria is a defacto client state of Russia. Fox guarding the henhouse?

The Obama Regime knows full well that “if” Assad has chemical weapons, he would never have enough time to turn them all over. ANY exuse for Obama to attack Syria to help his Muslim Brotherhood/Al Quaeda.

Because Obama is a MUSLIM and wants his Brotherhood/Al Quaeda to take power over the world! He and his “Regime” are systematically going to each mid-East country trying to overthrow the current leaders with the help of the U.S. (but NOT the U.S. citizens)!

Syria is not the true target; Iran is. Obama would have accelerated the impending war between Iran and Israel if the US had attacked Syria. US has demonstrated to the world how weak/divided the US is.

Obama has his tail in a crack. He is grasping at straws and looking for any way out of his self-imposed dilemma. Only a community organizer would believe the Russian proposal is a ration solution.

Rabbi's Commentary
God Is Present This Holy Season

Even as efforts for peace seem to be at an impasse all around the world, the Passover story can give us hope and affirmation that God is always present in our lives, and even when situations seem impossible, He is working in ways we cannot imagine.
