When the Arab Jews Fled

In the Wall Street Journal, Lucette Lagnado writes about the new movement to bring attention to Jews who were forced to leave Arab countries after the founding of Israel.

Now Israeli officials are turning the tables, saying the hardships faced by several hundred thousand exiled Arab Jews, many forced from their homes, deserve as much attention as the plight of displaced Palestinians. “We are 64 years late,” says Danny Ayalon, Israel’s deputy foreign minister. “The refugee problem does not lie only on one side.” Mr. Ayalon, whose father is an Algerian Jew, led a U.N. conference last month sponsored by Israel and dubbed “Justice for Jews From Arab Countries.”

Every country that have turned against God’s chosen people have fallen. It is about time to remind the Jewish people to take a stand and turn out to vote obama out of office before it is to late.

What about Iranian Jews who left Iran after 1979 revelotion.

The goverment of Iran took our homes, our land and whatever we left in Iran. This is the story of my family and thousands of Iranian Jews families left Iran.

Please don’t forget the suffering of Iranian Jews in the last 30 years.

Its pathetic how incomplete and misleading history is perpetuated. And many (most?) Jews do nothing about it, perhaps because they are so engrossed in liberal democratic party politics.

Its about time the Jewish people move away from the Democratic party plantation, where they are taken for granted, and compel the politicians to work for Jewish votes.

If the person is of jewish faith and origins then he or she belong in Israel and if they are of arab beliefs then they belong in ay number of arab countries. Israel only needs to protect its own. May GOD BLESS ISRAEL TODAY AND FOREVER MORE.

All (or almost all) Jews descend from the Israelite peoples. The 3 groups we are most aware of are the Ashkenazic, Sephardic and Misrahim. The Misrahim are Arab Jews.

The plight of the Arab Jewish exiles 700,000 or more, is a contrast to the plight of the 900,000 “Palestinians. Israel embraced their refugees; The Palestinians have become refugees in perpetuity.

Israel the Jewish nation took all the Arab Jewish
refugees with no hesitation. There are no Jewish
    refugees today.
How many Arab nations are there in the world today?
Why have they not been taken in?

The Rabbi Recommends: Rebbe, by Joseph Telushkin

Rarely do I recommend a book with the exuberance and enthusiasm I do today. The author of Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, was my roommate in Yeshiva Seminary when I studied for semicha, or ordination, there. He was then, and remains today, a dear friend whom I admire and deeply respect.
