Whoever Attacked Boston, Islamist Terror Still a Threat

Barry Rubin writes that, regardless of the source of the terror attack in Boston, Americans shouldn’t fool themselves into thinking that Islamist terror isn’t a threat. In fact, says Rubin, American vulnerability is high (and grows with complacency), the intent of our enemies is undiminished, and their capabilities grow daily:

The relative success of law enforcement and intelligence agencies is clear, yet the intensity of any terrorist war is measured not by successful attacks but by the number of attacks. One should always remember, as an Israeli official working on this issue once told me in private conversation, that counterterrorism was the only profession where succeeding 99 percent of the time was to fail.

Benjamin Franklin: “Who would trade liberty for safety deserves neither, and will wind up with neither.” If I haven’t got that right, feel free to correct me in public/here.

Sadly think that these terror attacks on our soil are the only thing which will cause Americans to understands the threat that Israel lives under daily.

He that liveth by the sword, shall perish by the sword. This will all happen to those evil doers, unless by some ways or means they change their ways and ask the Lords forgiveness.

Actually terror only succeeds if you allow fear to give weak leaders the opportunity to take your freedoms away in the name of safety. Israel should know this better than anyone.

Rabbi’s Commentary
Answering His Call, Faithfully and Joyfully

2014 has certainly been a year of struggles. But those challenges have been answered by God, and by His faithful followers. The Fellowship and our generous friends have been able to offer assistance to those who need it most, from the Holy Land to the former Soviet Union, and we look hopefully to the coming year as one of peace, prosperity, and repairing the world.
