Why hasn’t there been another Palestinian intifada?

At Forbes, Asaf Romirowsky and Alexander Joffe write about the unsustainability of the Palestinian economic and social model:

But broader forces are also at work. Outside of Gaza, Palestinians are stranded between two of their core cultural beliefs. The first is unending opposition to Israel. ‘Steadfastness’ means rejecting the existence of the Jewish state, and this is manifest at all levels of Palestinian society, from school textbooks to summer camp programs, to TV shows, literature and poetry. Virtually any peaceful interactions with Israelis are scorned as ‘normalization,’ and Israel is vilified by official Palestinian Authority and Hamas media not simply as the existential Other but in classically antisemitic terms as the eternal evil of global Jewry, parasitic and bloodthirsty.

At the same time there is another Palestinian imperative that is both cultural and socio-economic, the absolute necessity to maintain international aid. In per capita terms Palestinians have long been the world’s largest recipients of aid, far outstripped the vastly more impoverished regions of Africa and Asia. The Palestinian sense of entitlement is also absolute; any suggestions of cuts in direct aid or to UNRWA, the UN organization that maintains the third or fourth generation of ‘refugees’ who have been denied or refused to resettle in the Arab world, are met with anger, shock and threats. Intifada threatens aid, as does statehood, at least eventually.

I think that these Palestinians are taught to hate at birth and until this horrible evil is put to rest there cannot be peace. They are looking for pity and sympathy. Maybe, a whole new generation of them in the future will not spew this horrible evil and hatred. They too do not want peace. All of these radical muslims are the same and filled to the core with hatred and evil. GOD HELP ISRAEL !

God is all present, unseen though He his. He is very aware of the rapant hatred of these people. We should pray for them. Jesus said to pray for those that spitefully use, abuse you, and say all manner of evil against you. They are headed for grave trouble. The more you spend time in God’s word, the more the unseen, almighty, loving Creator is obvious to you. The more you focus on the threats and the media of today the more fearful you will be. God is love, He has loved Israel, Abraham, Isaac and Jacobs decendants everlastingly. Jesus said that He longed to gather Israel as a mother hen gathers her chicks. Jesus also said we should love our enemies. Uh, Palestinians obviously are not doing that. Neither is Iran or the rest of those nations. Genesis clearly told us that Ishmael was wild. It has been proving true as long as I can remember. There is such a stronghold of horrible, rank thinking amongst many of them and their leaders. I thank God that some are repenting in Christ. The Lord said there would be with Him people from every tribe, tongue and nation. God loves you Israel. Believe Him to move mightily on your behalf. David would always remind himself of all of the miracles of the past that God had done for him and Israel in their times of trouble. God did it then and He will do it again. Continue to love your enemies. Watch some of them repent, but those who won’t will be cast down bitterly. How sad for them to be caught in such a deception in their thinking. But, do not be deceived Israel; be circumcised of heart, love one another and your enemies, love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Jesus is really a true and everlasting gift of great love to you. Isaiah declared His coming and His reign. God says it pleased Him to bruise Christ and make His soul an offering for our sin; for the Jew FIRST and also for the Greek. I have seen Him and been in His presence and it is pure joy. Turn your whole hearts to God through Christ Jesus! He longs to be with you and give you a future and a hope.

Seems right. But does Obama get it? I don’t think so. For him, Israel is just one more expendable foreign country.

This article only lacks the obvious connection that the unending oppositin to Israel has always been anti-semitic and principally an Islamic objection to an equal-non-Muslim -state in the region. We tend to understate the source of the prejudice.

I support both Jews and Arabs in that I support Jews though this website and then I try and help Asialink when I can also. I have studied both Hebrew and Arabic and I see many similarities.

In a way I feel sorry for the Palestinians, but on the other hand I think it is very sad that the cannot recognize the State of Israel? Also the Jews and Palestinians Arabs are related!

Rabbi's Commentary
A Fragile Peace

As we continue to pray for a lasting peace, one of our most critical tasks is to help Israel recover – to rebuild, to restore shattered lives, to comfort those who have lost loved ones or livelihoods. And none of this is possible without you who continue to stand by the Jewish people.
