Jonathan Tobin writes in Commentary that the chances of an attack against Iran by Israel are decreasing and that Israel has asked for – but not yet received from the U.S. – a set of “red lines” that will trigger the U.S. to implement the military option that President Obama has always insisted remains on the table. Tobin writes:
The latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency is eroding any lingering doubts about Iran’s intentions or the progress it has made toward realizing its dangerous ambition. But with the number of centrifuges being doubled and now stored in a possibly invulnerable underground facility, the Israelis are rightly worried that time is running out fast before it will be too late to stop Iran.

What concerns me is that God allowed Babylon to take Israel captive for they had turned their back on God. I think this is also the case for the U.S. I know that there are many Christians in the U.S., but since 1960′s many have turned to the Muslim faith. How many times has he tried to make it hard on Mr. Netanyahu, and put pressure on Israel, when they have had a perfect right to do what they wanted to do. He is not about to do anything to involve himself in anything that he considers to be a problem to what he hopes will be his reelection. I am afraid that Israel is eventually going to have to bite the bullet and do what they have to do in their own good time, because President Obama, considers your country a loose cannon and he will not touch anything that he considers to be a political problem for him, even while trying to tell the world what a great ally you are and how much he supports you. I realize that this does not make any sense to any normal thinking person, but sadly, that is the way things are at the moment.

God’s word is the final authority. God’s word tells and teaches us of the past we were not alive to experience and of the future. Was His word wrong about the past? It seems that archeology and true science continue to prove His historical accounts given to us as true! So, does He speak of Israel being destroyed in this way at this time? I get so weary of reading and hearing about all of the hatred in the nations surrounding Israel and I can only imagine that if I were in Israel’s shoes right now I might be shaking too. However, if God is truly God, and His covenant is now with the whole earth, including Israel, through His Son Jesus, then there is still a God abiding with Israel. In 1 Sam. 17:45-47, David declares boldly, “You come to me with sword and spear and javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This very day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head; and I will give the dead bodies of the Philistine army this very day to the birds of the air and to the wild animals of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the Lord does not save by sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hand.” This reminds me of what is written in Ezekiel’s prophey often talked about these days in 38 and 39. The Lord states, “I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; I will turn you around and put hooks into your jaws, and I will lead you out…..In the latter days I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I display my holiness before their eyes.” Anyway, the whole thing is just too long to fully quote here, but praise our God, so many of us have bibles to read it in. That is a mighty miracle in and of itself! So, the battle is the Lord’s! As for me, I am praying and trusting in the Lord to act. If Israel can take down the walls of Jericho by marching around the city and blowing trumpets, then my song of pure praise, a new song unto the Lord is enough. I did just that and continue to do just that. Like Miriam after the Lord drown the mighty armies of Egypt in the Red Sea. Like Mary when she sang forth declaring about Jesus in her womb and the mightiness of His reign. The Lord will triumph and keep Israel and win the hearts of her people unto Himself once again. “O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie. Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by. Yet, in thy dark street shineth, the everlasting light. The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.” We can sing old songs too. I don’t know how, but God will triumph just as He promised. Israel, trust in and put your hope in the Lord! Seek His face and His counsel; He will guide you and defend you.
