The threat to Israel… and the world

While only a handful of Arab and Muslim countries have acknowledged the existence of Israel, let alone established diplomatic relations with her, only one has positioned itself as Israel’s most dire enemy: Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a chief source of instability not only in the Middle East, but around the world. According to numerous intelligence agencies and military observers, Iran is one of the main sponsors and promoters of global terror and is working diligently to acquire a nuclear arsenal. The country’s extreme agenda gives comfort and inspiration to Islamic radicals seeking to transform moderate Muslim and Western societies in their own image. While Iran’s leaders are not shy about heaping scorn on “The Great Satan,” the United States, they save most of their vitriol for the “Little Satan,” Israel. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called the Jewish state “the most cruel and repressive racist regime in Palestine.” He claims that Israel’s founders “resorted to military aggression to make an entire nation homeless on the pretext of Jewish sufferings.”

Ahmadinejad and other Iranian officials have repeatedly and openly called for the destruction of the Jewish state. And, without actually involving their own troops, these Islamist zealots have used proxies to wage war on Israel.

“Proxy wars”: Hamas and Hizbullah

Iran funds, arms, trains and supports terrorist regimes and organizations that wreak murder and chaos around the globe. Their most prominent client-organizations, however, are Hamas and Hezbollah, through which Iran is able to wage “proxy war” against the Jewish state. Though Iran has never directly engaged Israeli militarily, Israel’s last wars were fought against irregular forces acting at Iran’s behest.

Hamas controls the Gaza Strip, a narrow band of land on Israel’s southeast border, and Hezbollah controls southern Lebanon, which borders Israel on the north.

For years, Hamas used Iranian funds and technology to launch vicious terrorist assaults on the Jewish state, murdering and injuring thousands of civilians. Once it seized control of Gaza in 2007, Hamas began bombarding southern Israeli cities with thousands of rockets until, in December 2008, IDF forces invaded the strip to stop the attacks.

Technically a “political party,” Hezbollah is a terrorist group that became the first Arab or Muslim group able to claim a real victory over Israel: Following years of Hezbollah’s guerilla warfare, in 2000, Israeli forces unilaterally withdrew from southern Lebanon, which they had patrolled for more than nearly two decades in order to prevent shelling of northern Israel from the region.

Although getting Israel out was its stated purpose, following the withdrawal, Hezbollah continued guerilla attacks and occasional incursions into Israel, in addition to launching rockets and missiles at northern cities. Other tactics include erecting large billboards visible across the border with graphic photos of the bodies or body parts of dead Israeli soldiers, or photos of missing soldiers, that mocked and threatened the IDF, the Israeli government, and the Israeli people.

In July 2006, Hezbollah launched yet another attack on Israeli soldiers stationed at the border, killing three and kidnapping two. Israeli forces invaded, seeking the two soldiers, while Hezbollah began bombarding Israeli towns — the worst attacks since the nation’s founding. One million residents of the Galilee fled or sat in shelters for a month. More than 150 Israeli civilians and soldiers were killed and Hezbollah did not return the two soldiers, whom Hezbollah claimed were alive. The soldiers’ fate was not known until their bodies were returned in a prisoner swap two years later; Israeli authorities believe they were killed in the initial attack.

In November, 2009, Israel intercepted a cargo ship carrying hundreds of tons of weaponry disguised as civilian goods, which Israeli intelligence says was on its way to Hezbollah from Iran.

What do you think?

Maybe God is mad at Israel again for the treatment of the Palestinians. Maybe he wacks them hard again as he has done so many times before. I think he made a bad choice with this tribe.

Israel is not a tribe. It is a nation, made up of 12 tribes. As for their treatment of Palestine, they only act out of defense against cowardly acts of terrorism. Israel wants peace with the palestinian people. Palestinian leaders want Israel to cease to exist. This mindset will never bring peace, but peace with Israel is not on the palestinian agenda. I can only pray that one day it will be.

I might be missing the mark, but if the USA fights with Israel they will get some of the glory. If G-d is to get the glory, He will have to take the USA out of the way, then the world will see that it was G-d, and not man, that fought for His peopel Israel. He [ECHOD] moves in ways we some times will not under stand, I would like to know all the answers, but thats not the case, if so, where dose faith, and trust come in?. P.S.[ I have an ear to listen]. Prior to 1947 was there a Israel? Where this state came from? I just looked at an old map of the middle east and there was only a country (occupied by the Brits) called Palestine. So Who stole who in this story?

John, you’re wrong.”Palestine” was never an autonomous, self-governing entity. Prior to the British Mandate, it was ruled by the Ottoman Empire for centuries.

As a Christian, I pray for & support the nation & the people of Israel. I consider myself Jewish as well, because as a follower of Jesus Christ, I am grafted into the Jewish people spiritually. It sickens me to see the bias against the Jewish People & State displayed in the media. When judging who the aggressor is, remember it is not the Jews who convince young men and women to strap bombs to themselves to go on so called “suicide bomber” missions.

Sometimes I think God has a sence of humor. While the Al Gores of the world use climate change for more personal power and wealth, use it as an excuse to spread socialism and get the weak minded to worship mother earth and thir governmnets. HE gives them a little volcano in Iceland to plug or shift the pacific plate just a bit for quakes like Japan. Almost like saying here fools try and fix this.

I believe if the so called|(no such people in history, simply arab squaters)go to the un obama will backtrack and vote yes for there petition to the un.while iran is a huge threat the larger threat is obama a wolf in sheeps clothing, a closet muslim and socialist.

Israel is a critical ally of the United States and our support for Israel should be a fundamental and durable component of our foreign policy . Our relationship with Israel is one of shared interests and values. As such, I believe our foreign policy should reflect the importance of Israel’s continued security.

I was blessed to visit the”Holy Land” in 1983 as a US show of force. I pray “The Lord God” who delivered the Israel time and time again, will completely & totally destroy all who cause Her harm. I will pray that Cannaanites, find their place as servants to Judah. they are cursed by the sin of their father “Ham” son of Noah, for uncovering his fathers nakedness. I oppose any consolation of land to the Phillistines (Palistinians), for they to will serve. Shalom and my prayer will always be “Lord God, bless your chosen people, Yashua, bless your chosen, keep them in the hollow of your mighty hand. We lift up our heads to the hills, where comes our help, our help comes for the Lord God Almighty, the maker of heaven and earth.

these are the time that is written in the Holy Bible. if know one can’t see it then they must be sleeping under a rock. isreal has always held a special place in my heart. no matter what i will always protect and defend isreal. look at the bullies surrounding isreal, they accuse isreal about there demise not knowing that its their own fault. how would they like it if we threaten them with destruction. we could be able to bring our military might and take on every hater of isreal at the same time but just like isreal always did and the u.s. was the quest for peace. its not that hard. peace, love, equality and respect. say NO to a PA state that has Hamas as part of the Gov.t. i feel bad for Iran. everyone will see and understand who the one who doesn’t want peace. JESUS will protect the children of GOD. Jews and Gentiles alike. BELIEVE in JESUS, his kingdom will be in isreal. GOD BLESS ISREAL and stay strong.

The God of Israel is Israels Champion. The God of Israel knows no defeat, he put his people into battle and their enemies will flee. Israel is the Apple of God’s eye. Why are people in fear. Nothing on this Earth can happen unless The God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob says so. Yea of little faith. Call on the name of the Lord and keep Israel in prayer. Those that Bless Israel God will bless, Those that curse Israel God will curse. All of these things are in the Torah and the renewed covenant. God has told what is going to happen, we have nothing to fear neither do my Jewish family. Be strong and trust in the Father who has everything under control. Jewish brothers and sister remember the Father gave all that land to Us not to any one else and if we allow the US and other countries to pressure us into give our promise land away., the Father is going to deal with us. We must pray for our leaders and we must keep GOD’S PROMISES IN OUR HEARTS. The Father has said I don’t know how many times in the word. Fear Not. Know one is greater that out Father, Stay strong and Trust him and pray to him as much as possible., He wants us to call on ABBA . He is True and Faithful. He will Defend Israel. Trust him. It doesn’t sound bad. It’s exactly what we should do. 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land. It’s exactly what we should do.

The IDF and the Mosad are very skilled in what they are trained to do. I am wondering why someone from within these organisations has not been given the task of disposing of Ahmadinijad. Even his own people do not want him running the country as he stole the election and dispensed with internal protest the only way he knows how. To eliminate him would be a sure way to save perhaps millions of lives. He cannot be allowed to strike Israel with his evil

I stay in Scotland and there ae a lot of our churches taking the promises for Israel to theselves which is so wrong. These promises are for Israel and no one else. Until churches all over the UK realise that these promises are not for them but for God’s chosen people we too will be under a curse. We have to apologise to the Jews for the way we treated them in WW11 when we turned our backs on therm as they tried to come ashore. Many Jews died because of that so we need to repent too just like Canada did a few years back.I reiterate what many have written “If we bless Israel we will be blessed but if we curse Israel then we will be cursed. I agree with you.
No matter what the enemy will throw at Israel, he will not prevail.
We are watching now the unfolding of probably the final act and all of us, who put their trust in Jesus, will have to stand for him.
The enemies of the cross are in our countries as well, and it seems they are too preparing for the war.
Israel is the chosen people of God, and we – as the wild branch of the olive tree – are plugged in and not the other way around.
Jesus will come back soon, and we should save as many as we can and be diligent about preaching the gospel.
It is all about Jesus, not about denominations or opinions or whatever, BUT about HIM.

As Long as Ahmadinijad is in control Israel, and the Western Nations are in Danger of him acting out his aggression. When he gets the full support of His allies who are fueling his Nuclear Reactors, and when they feel the time is right they will make their advances. Sanctions against Iran hurt the people more than it does the powers that are in charge. And when you have a person who is in charge that is only hoping to push his own agenda, then there is little concern for the people under his rule. To the young Man From Iran. The world understands that not everyone in any country agrees with everything that is going on. In My Opinion Ahmadinijad is a threat to Israel and the World. Time will tell what his next move is,. It will be a sad Day when the World Stands Against Israle, and sadder for the world when G-d begins to pour out his wrath on those that come against it.

I was reading the book of Zechariah, in the King James version of the bible, and it speaks of what GOD is going to do and how
JESUS is going to cleave the mount of olive when his feet touches the mount with the saints {Christains}, and all will run there for safety, because when all nations come against you , it will be doing the 3and half years of antichrist time. It says the jews are going to cry about JESUS and their rejection of him and Isreal will be save, and evil bound for 1000 years. rejoice, your salvation is soon to come. JESUS is LORD of lords and KING of kings.
